Founded in 1962, Ledbury Choral Society is a friendly and welcoming choir of around 60–70 enthusiastic singers who share a love of choral music. We are a non-auditioned choir, so if you enjoy singing, you are warmly invited to come along to a rehearsal and see what it's all about.

The choir performs three or four concerts each year in Ledbury and is proud to play an active role in the local community. Over the years this has included everything from singing Christmas carols for residents at Leadon Bank to performing at Eastnor Castle in support of fundraising for Eastnor Church.

As a community choir, we rely on the generosity and encouragement of our members, audiences and supporters. Their continued support enables us to present an exciting programme of high-quality concerts, working with professional soloists and orchestras while making great choral music accessible to the local community.

A typical concert season includes:

  • A major choral work at Easter, usually performed with orchestra and professional soloists.

  • A summer concert featuring a varied and entertaining programme, with music spanning the Renaissance to the present day.

  • A popular Come & Sing workshop in January, welcoming singers from across the region.

  • A major autumn concert, usually held in early November.

  • A festive Christmas celebration in December, bringing the community together to round off the year.

Our repertoire reflects the richness and diversity of choral music, from Monteverdi's Beatus Vir to Karl Jenkins' The Armed Man, alongside many other well-loved classics and contemporary works.
