Ledbury Choral Society, formed in 1962, is a small, friendly group of over 60 dedicated singers. We present three or four major concerts a year, often accompanied by a professional orchestra and soloists.  We occasionally combine forces with other choirs to put on large scale works. Our lovely parish church of St Michael & All Angels is our usual concert venue, but we have also performed at Eastnor Castle, Hereford Cathedral, John Masefield High School, Malvern Theatre, and St Wulstan’s Catholic parish church in Malvern. Throughout the year we are also open to requests to sing at individual functions.

A typical concert year includes:

  • A major choral work, usually with orchestra and professional soloists, at Easter.

  • A summer concert featuring varied repertoire from the Renaissance period to the modern day, as befits a summer’s evening.

  • Whenever possible, a Come & Sing workshop is programmed into January.

  • A major concert at the beginning of November.

  • A celebration of the Christmas season in December concludes the year with a popular community event.

The wide variety of choral pieces performed in recent years has ranged from Monteverdi’s Beatus Vir to The Armed Man by Karl Jenkins.
