Simon began his musical journey as an organ scholar at university, where he studied physics and German in the UK before continuing his music studies in Germany. After a rewarding career teaching in secondary schools, he and his family moved to Austria for what was intended to be a one-year sabbatical—but they enjoyed it so much that they stayed for eleven years. Since returning to England in 2018, Simon has established himself as a piano tuner and freelance musician.

He is Musical Director of the Marches Military Wives Choir and accompanies music examinations as well as several choirs across Herefordshire. Simon is also an accomplished organist, composer and translator, holding diplomas in both piano performance and composition. More information about his work can be found at www.simonpeberdymusic.com.

In recent years, Simon's compositions have been performed at the Three Choirs Festival, Hay Festival and the Ledbury Poetry Festival.

Ledbury Choral Society has been delighted to include Simon's music in several of its programmes. Most recently, the choir performed Dawn, a beautiful setting of a poem by Tim Keyes, who sings bass with the choir.
